Shift Iris & Rack Focus

Rack focusing was another technique that I tried out, which involved shifting the focus from one subject to another within a scene. I found that using a shallow depth of field made the transition more noticeable and impactful. With some practice, I was able to smoothly and naturally shift the focus between the two subjects. It added a level of depth and visual interest to my shots.

I remember using a shift iris on my camera to experiment with different shapes and sizes of the aperture. It was a little tricky to adjust the aperture once the shift iris was in place, so I made sure to set it beforehand. A shift iris is a lens accessory that allows you to control the shape and size of the aperture, creating a unique and creative look in your images.
